At that time, the area came into our family's possession thanks to the lucky "hand" of my great-grandfather. To this day, we tell the story that he won at cards, which was the case. He sat down with his friends to play Ferbli (probably the hungarian version of the well-known Poker), where the game was at stake. At first with sums of money, finally, when that was used up, larger values came. This is how an acquaintance laid out the plot.
Fortunately for my great-grandfather...
The story doesn't end here. My grandparents converted the existing press house into a small holiday home. At that time only the lower lever existed, and there was also a service apartment. Since they already operated it as a guest house.
Later, when it came into my possession, my family and I decided to modernize and beautify it. This is how another floor was added, and this is how the back service apartment (which is the living room in its present form) was opened together with the dining room. Since then, the gardening work has started, and who knows where it ends...
How did the name of Nobilis Vendégház come about?
The story behind it is very simple. The master of the aforementioned "lucky hand" was none other than my great-grandfather. This branch of the family bore the name "Nemes" (in english Noble) as a family name. Since we owe this little jewelry box to him, we thought that in memory of him, we would like him to be included in the name somehow.
The question arose as to why the name "Nemes" did not remain at the time. Simple, the goal was to remember, but not necessarily use the name crudely. That's how the ideas came, until at the end the beauty of the Latin language jumped in. As you know, the term "Nemes (in english Noble) comes from latin "Nobilis".
Voilá!
The name is there... NOBILIS VENDÉGHÁZ (Guesthouse).
We hope our dear guests leave with memories similar to ours when we think of our little jewelry box.
